Alyson was born in Toledo, Ohio. Growing up, she studied tap, ballet, and jazz dancing at the O'Connell's Dance Studio in her hometown. She also trained and modeled at the Margaret O'Brien Modeling Studio. She even attended the IMTA Convention in New York City with Ms. O'Brien's studio in 2000, and she won many awards in acting, modeling, and dance. Later, Alyson decided to try hip-hop dancing. She moved to LA and trained with such well-known choreographers as Fatima, Wade Robson, Hi Hat, Dave Scott, Shane Sparks and Dante . She auditioned and was cast to dance in the Missy 'Misdemeanor' Elliott videos "Work It" and "Gossip Folks." Missy continued casting Alyson as a dancer in various performances both live and taped, including the Jay Leno Show, American Music Awards, MTV’s Fashionably Loud Spring Break Concert in Miami and at Seattle’s Radio Concert. Her video career didn’t end there as she was called out by Eminem to dance in one of his videos and she was booked to dance at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards with both OutKast and Will Smith

Because of the Missy Elliott videos, Alyson has been in demand by such media outlets as "Extra" (1994), "Ellen: The Ellen DeGeneres Show" (2003),"The Maury Povich Show" (1991) and magazines such as "YM" and "M." She performed on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (1992), and with 'Missy 'Misdemeanor' Elliott' at the 2003 American Music Awards, on "MTV's Fashionably Loud," and Seattle's Radio Concert. Not only is Alyson a talented dancer, she is also the co-host of the Disney Channel's "Mike's Super Short Show" (2002), an infomercial segment that sells upcoming DVD and Video releases of Disney movies.

Voiceovers have also been a steady job for Alyson with such noted ones as Lilo & Stitch, W.I.T.C.H., Pompoko and Phineas & Ferb. She has performed voicework for many TV shows and movies as well.

2005, Stoner guest starred in the Disney television series "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" as Max. Her “big screen” career includes roles as “Sarah Baker” in the popular Cheaper by the Dozen and Cheaper by the Dozen 2 movies starring Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt. 2008, she starred in Disney's hit movie "Camp Rock" along with the Jonas brothers, Demi Lovato, and Meaghan Jette Martin. She played as Mitchi Torres' (Demi Lovato) friend, Caitlyn Geller.
